Barry J. Gelber, D.D.S.

r. Gelber, a native of New York , completed his undergraduate education at the University of Rochester and received his D.D.S from New York University College of Dentistry. After graduating, he served in a rotating dental internship in the United States Air Force. Dr. Gelber then completed his specialized training in periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

In 1976, he began practicing in Wethersfield. By incorporating new treatments and technologies, he has since become a leader in the periodontal community. He was one of the first periodontists in the Northeast to offer dental implant placement and has accrued nearly 20 years of experience in this growing field. Dr. Gelber's long standing practice has made him a valuable staple of the Wethersfield community and he remains the most experienced periodontist in his area.

He has held teaching appointments at both the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and Mount Sinai Hospital. He continues to teach and lecture for the Hartford Hospital Residency Program and serves as mentor for the Wethersfield Dental Hygienist Study Club . Additionally, Dr. Gelber currently serves as a dental consultant for the State of Connecticut Department on Health and was a CIGNA periodontal consultant for many years.
